South France, Day 6: Monte Carlo, Monaco

That morning, we hopped on a train from Nice to Monte Carlo, Monaco. The Formula 1, gambling, and 007 center of the world!!

The first sight we saw coming out of the train station. A home perched high on a cliff.

Saint-Devote church.

I had to include the next (awful) picture because Monaco is the center for Formula 1 in mid April. I learned that Michael Schumacher (BBC's Top Gear is the only reason I'm obsessed with this factoid) is the fastest man around this track at one minute forty seconds.

Formula 1 car in copper.

Musee Oceanographique et Aquarium.

Palais de Justice

Palais Princier.
Apparently when the flag is up (as it is in the picture) the prince is home.
While I was busy taking a picture, a car passed behind me and Alexandra swears she saw the princess in the car!

Crepe vegetarian. Very cheap, but not very filling.

Casino Monte Carlo in the background!

Sadly, we didn't go inside the gambling area of the casino. We walked around the lobby, which was grand, but photos weren't allowed. The bathroom was the fanciest one I've been in. So that was nice.

Auditorium Rainier-III near Port Hercule. I thought it was a helipad, but I'm not sure.

Plage du Larvotto in the distance, as well as much of Monaco.

The Mediterranean Sea at Plage du Larvotto! So wonderful!

If you want a taste of the beach to brighten your day, take a look at Monte Carlo's beach:
